Transferring to UMB
Undergraduate
transfers
At UMass Boston transfer students are an important part of the student
population. Six of 10 new UMass Boston undergraduates have attended
college elsewhere. About half of these students come from two-year colleges
while the rest are from other four-year institutions. At UMB you are considered
an undergraduate transfer if you have attended another college or university,
regardless of the number of credits you earned. Undergraduate transfer
students may apply for joint
admissions and/or dual
enrollment.
For specific information about credits transferred and other issues,
consult the listing of academic programs,
in particular check the policies of particular programs. You might also
want to contact the program or department office and inquire about the
latest criteria.
Graduate transfers
As is typical of most graduate programs, graduate transfers are rare
at UMass Boston. If you are considering coming to UMass Boston to complete
your graduate study, your best bet is to contact the individual graduate
program and inquire about whether you can obtain credit for your previous
study.
