Most national and international university rankings place Tsinghua University among the best universities in mainland China. The University has a strong commitment to global education and international academic exchange and partners with numerous universities worldwide.
It was first a preparatory school for students later sent by the government to study in the United States. It is located in Beijing on the former site of Qing Dynasty royal gardens. In the past, the school was commonly referred to as the "MIT of China."
One of the non-degree programs Tsinghua offers is the English Language Program which prepares you for the English proficiency exam and study abroad.
