Department of Anthropology — Honors
Departmental honors involve an intensive two-semester program of individual research conducted under the direction of a member of the department and leading to the presentation of an honors paper. Requirements for honors candidacy include: senior standing; at least four upper-level courses in anthropology; a 3.5 GPA in the major, a 3.0 overall GPA; and the sponsorship of an honors advisor from among the department faculty. Qualifying students enroll in ANTH 490 and ANTH 491 during their senior year. Honors research is evaluated by a committee of three faculty members, including the honors advisor.
