The Program — Theatre and Dance

Theatre arts is concerned with the lively art of theatre in all its myriad forms, including play production, design, and performance; dramatic literature; playwriting; dance; and broadcasting. The UMass Boston major in theatre arts provides knowledge, ability, and experience for undergraduates to pursue further study or training, to enter the expanding world of regional theatre, to teach and direct theatre in schools, and to become active members of the theatre community. The program also offers a minor in theatre arts and a minor in dance.
