Residency Requirements
In-state, out-of-state . . . What's your rate?
Because UMass Boston is a public university, partially funded by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, we are able to offer Massachusetts residents a lower tuition rate.
Sometimes, however, questions arise as to exactly what is required in order to be considered a resident—and thus to receive the “in-state” tuition.
