First-year Freshmen

Last year we welcomed over 1,000 first-year freshmen to the UMass Boston community.

Together they make up one of the brightest, most interesting gathering of students around. Students come from high schools near and far to our campus on the harbor—and they enjoy one of the most engaging and conscientious universities in the world. Freshmen enjoy all the best of the University of Massachusetts Boston—a leading public research university with a warm and world-class teaching soul.
