Study Abroad
Maybe you should go away.
That is, travel, live, and learn abroad. And doing so as a student might be the most rewarding and efficient way to go.
You may consider studying abroad for a few weeks, a semester, or a whole academic year in the country of your choice. You can even apply your federal financial aid to help with the costs, and apply transfer credits that you earn abroad to your UMass Boston degree.
Studying abroad offers great opportunities to broaden your knowledge, enrich your understanding, promote cultural exchange, and an experience creating lifelong memories, and even to add to your resume.
Full-year and semester-long study abroad programs are offered through the Study Abroad Program office.
Spend your winter or summer break exploring an international destination while earning credit. International Programs offered by our Division of Corporate, Continuing, and Distance Education are a popular alternative to a longer study abroad—and all journeys are led by UMass Boston faculty and include mainly fellow UMass Boston students.
