Volunteering is a great way to reconnect with the university and find out what is new and exciting on campus.  It’s also a great way to mentor students and to share your experiences with colleagues.

“Baskets of Love” Volunteer Event

Just in time for Valentines Day, Jumpstart at UMASS-Boston sponsored a supply drive—Baskets of Love—to benefit the children and preschools it serves.  On February 9th, UMass-Boston students, alumni, and faculty donated books, crayons, markers, puzzles and other much-needed literacy and art materials to Jumpstart preschoolers.   Volunteers also spent time creating story puppets, alphabet books, and picture frames to donate. Thanks to the generosity and hard work of all who participated in this event, a large overflowing basket full of books and art supplies was donated to the children at each of UMass-Boston’s partner preschools.
