A Brief Look Back
Hundreds of UMass alumni from all five campuses have participated in the UMass Travel Program. Trips to Ireland, Greece, the Danube, Portugal, Provence, and Spain have all been popular. For the Alumni College Program in Provence, Richard Delaney of UMass Boston’s own Urban Harbors Institute presented lectures on Provence and the Mediterranean Sea, the influence of the Port of Marseilles, and modern-day challenges for a typical fishing village. Raymond Snay (UML ’58), reports, "I must say that we were extremely impressed. The services and facilities at the Hotel Da Cartuzxa in Evora were excellent. The choice of lecturers was outstanding. But what made the experience most rewarding was the attention to detail."
