Randy Albelda will discuss findings from "Bridging the Gaps Between Earnings and Basic Needs in Massachusetts" (available at www.umb.edu/bridgingthegaps) and the opportunities and challenges of working of doing collaborative applied research. The talk will take place at 4 pm at UMass Amherst in 620 Thompson Hall. The talk is sponsored by the Center for Public Policy and Administration at UMass Amherst and is open to the public.

The report release began with welcome remarks by Donna Haig Friedman – the Director, Center for Social Policy -- and UMass Boston’s Chancellor Keith Motley. Massachusetts Lt. Governor Tim Murray and Judith Kurland, Chief of Staff to Boston’s Mayor Thomas Menino, followed with state and city policy perspectives on the issues raised in the report.
Dr. Randy Albelda and University of Massachusetts Boston presented the findings from Bridging the Gaps Between Earnings and Basic Needs. Followed by commentary from the following panel of experts:
