The Student Support Program is an advising program used by first generation college students as well as underprivileged, and physically challenged students who need academic advising. The Advising Center provides academic and career advising services to assist students with any aspect of their academic careers. The offices within the Advising Center are Academic Advising, Career Services, the Co-op Educational/Internship Program, and the National Student Exchange Program. The Internship Program allows students to gain work experience while earning academic credit. The Co-op Program is a combined curriculum and career program which prepares students by means of practical work experience while earning an income. The Career Counseling Center is used by graduating seniors who seek help with letters of reference and resumes for The National Student Exchange Program: students have the opportunity to study at one of over 70 participating colleges and universities in 40 states, Puerto Rico, and the US Virgin Islands at a cost comparable to attending Umass Boston. The Ryan Student Lounge provides a quiet area for study and relaxation. For veterans who have been away from academics, The Veterans' upward Bound program offers preparation for college level work. The Chapel is open to students of all religious persuasions. Services are scheduled during the academic year. |
