                     SUBJECT:  Campus Visits for Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs Candidates

I am very pleased to inform you that the Provost Search Committee has selected and invited to bring to campus the following candidates:

Gary Reichard is executive vice chancellor and chief academic officer of the California State University system. He received his BA from the College of Wooster, his MA from Vanderbilt University, and his PhD from Cornell University. (Please click here to view his curriculum vitae.)

Winston Langley is interim provost and vice chancellor for academic affairs, and professor of political science and international relations, at the University of Massachusetts Boston. He received his BA from Atlantic Union College, his MA and PhD from Howard University, and his JD from Suffolk University. (Please click here to view his curriculum vitae.)

Hilary Horn Ratner is vice president for research and professor of psychology at Wayne State University. She received her BA from Kent State University, and her MS and PhD from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. (Please click here to view her curriculum vitae.)

Our next provost will play a central role in shaping and realizing the university’s plans for the future. These candidates will discuss their vision of that future and the challenges they anticipate as we strive to fulfill our mission of research, teaching, and service. A question-and-answer period will follow each presentation. I invite all members of the university community to attend these discussions, which will take place according to the schedule below.
