Mission and Key Goals CIOCS addresses the special and critical role of ocean eco-systems and marine services that are significantly influenced by climate change and that have direct bearing on dimensions of human security, and thus national security and international political stability.
Global Conference on Oceans, Climate and Security. In response to elevated awareness of the impacts a changing climate can have on national, economic, business, cultural and human security, a new focused line of inquiry has emerged and will be explored at GC '12.
Making Connections for Informed Change The Collaborative Institute aims to: 1) work with key influencers and decision makers to strengthen the understanding of the human and national security implications of changing oceans and climates, and 2) inform policy decisions through the application of sound scientific research and technology.
CIOCS News Through strategic convening, research, and communication efforts, the Collaborative Institute advances solutions to complex problems for people and organizations best positioned to address the growing challenges of climate-induced changes to our coastal oceans and to humanity.
