Caps, Gowns & Tickets

Caps and Gowns

Caps and gowns are free of charge for graduates and will be available for pick-up at the bookstore. The bookstore is located on the upper level of the Campus Center, with entrances just inside the building's main entrance, and next to the Atrium Café.

Cap and gown pick up runs April 29 through May 17 during the bookstore’s normal hours, which are Mondays–Thursdays, 8:30 a.m.–6:30 p.m., and Fridays, 8:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m.  Pick up is also available the following week at reduced hours: May 20 - 24, 8:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m.

We expect that four weeks is ample time for each graduate to visit the Bookstore and collect their regalia, invitations and tickets.

In the event you are unable to pick up your regalia, you may send someone to pick it up on your behalf.  That person will need:

  • A copy of your student ID or your student ID number
  • Your height
  • The name of the college from which you're graduating (eg. College of Liberal Arts, College of Management, etc)

Your name will be on the pick up list as long as you are eligible to graduate, have filed with the registrar and have taken care of any outstanding bills/payments to the university.

Invitations and Tickets

Together with your cap and gown you will receive five invitations and five admission tickets.  Please note that invitations will not serve as tickets and no extra tickets will be available.  Also please note that the main ceremony is held outdoors, rain or shine, so please dress appropriately and bring rain gear if necessary.

If you anticipate needing more than the allotted number of tickets we recommend that you begin speaking with your fellow students now about your dilemma. Students often do not use all of their tickets, and other students may be willing to give you their extras.  Unfortunately we can not provide additional tickets to students due to the limited seating at the ceremony.

Please note that the invitation/ticket packages are shrink wrapped and inside each package includes mailing envelopes, FIVE invitations and FIVE tickets.  We suggest you open this package before leaving the bookstore to ensure that all FIVE tickets are inside the package.  We are unable to replace lost or stolen packages so please put these items in a secure place once you leave campus, thank you!

Personalized Graduation Announcements

If you are interested in ordering personalized announcements you may do so from Jostens.  During the spring semester Jostens will have a table in the Bookstore in the Campus Center, so you may order there or order directly online.  You will also be able to purchase class rings.  Please contact Jostens directly for the specific ordering process.

Personalized graduation announcements are a great way to let your family and friends know that you are graduating, however, they should not serve as invitations to the graduation ceremony and can not be used as admission tickets.
