Commencement Day

Commencement 2013 is Friday, May 31!

The University of Massachusetts Boston holds one commencement for the academic year.  At this commencement, graduates from December 2012, May 2013 and those who anticipate to graduate in August 2013 (and have filed with the registrar to do so) may walk in the May 31 academic ceremony.

Remember, the ceremony will be held outside on the Campus Center lawn, rain or shine.  Be sure to dress appropriately and encourage your guests to do so.  We suggest not wearing high-heeled shoes.  Bring sunscreen and a hat, or, if weather is inclement, rain gear.

We encourage all graduates and their guests to attend both the main commencement ceremony and individual college ceremony.  The main ceremony begins at 9:30am.  If a graduate and guests plan to only attend the college ceremony we suggest you arrive by 11:30am.  On campus lots will be full by 9am on commencement day, so you may need to park at the Bayside Lot or other satellite lots.  Bus shuttles will be running to and from all off-campus lots all day on Friday May 31.  Drop off locations are the Campus Center Lawn and near the Clark Athletic Center.

PLEASE NOTE: ➢ For the safety and security of our guests, all bags are subject to search. We recommend that neither you nor your guests bring bags to campus on commencement day. If you choose to bring a bag, Public Safety officers will search it before you are allowed to enter the Clark Athletic Center for line up. If your guests choose to bring a bag, Public Safety officers will search it before permitting entrance to the main and college ceremonies. We will not have a bag holding area. We appreciate your understanding with this matter.
