Peacebuilding & Conflict Resolution
Peacebuilding Projects
CPDD has worked in Northern Ireland and South Africa engaging in conflict management programs since 1996. Headed by CPDD Senior Fellow Padraig O’Malley, CPDD's working thesis for its conflict management projects is simple; communities in conflict – divided along either ethnic, racial, religious, national, or ideological lines or by majority/minority dichotomies – are best helped by other divided societies that have undergone violent conflict and have found their way to peaceful settlement of their differences. Within this framework CPDD assisted in bringing together peer actors from South Africa and Northern Ireland to help transform these conflicted areas.
