Mwangi is an ardent advocate for making use of diversity that exists in society in a creative and positive way to improve social and economic inclusion. Central to all her work and assignments is a keen interest in the interlinking of human rights and economic development to create meaningful livelihoods for communities.

Mwangi is the Vice Chair of Voluntary Service Overseas, Jitolee, an international development charity that works through volunteers with headquarters in Nairobi, Kenya. Mwangi is a native Kenyan and holds an MA in International Development.
