Carol Hardy-Fanta Public Service Internship Fund for Women

 

The Carol Hardy-Fanta Public Service Internship Fund for Women is an annual award made to up to two students in the University’s Graduate Program for Women in Politics & Public Policy who foster a greater understanding of the intersectionality of gender, race, ethnicity in politics and public policy within a public service setting. The student will receive a monetary award to work for up to nine months in a state or local government office or organization working on policy issues of concern to women who represent the diversity of women in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Students will perform the internship while enrolled in a regular class schedule. This is a prestigious award based on the overall merit of the student.

About Carol

Carol Hardy-Fanta joined the center in 1994, became Research Director in 1997 and then center Director in 2001. She received her PhD in Public Policy from Brandeis University's Heller School, an MSW from Smith College, and a BA from Occidental College. Carol is a nationally recognized scholar on Latina/o politics and has published widely on the intersection of gender, race and ethnicity in politics and public policy.
