The Real Scoop: UMass Boston according to Our Students

Archline Bing

ArchlineA Sociology and Political Science major, Archline came to UMass Boston as a transfer student from Mt. Ida College, where she received her Associates Degree in Travel and Tourism. Archline is currently a senior and credits her professors and counselors in guiding her through her journey at UMass Boston.


Devin Bramhall

DevinA senior majoring in English and Communications Studies, Devin is an intern at WUMB radio. Besides work and school, Devin has been able to maintain her social life. Seeing people she knows everywhere she goes on campus makes me Devin feel like she's part of a true community.


Jason Campos

JasonA recent graduate who majored in English, Jason is a Boston native who worked full time for four years before returning to the academic setting. As an active member of the UMB community, Jason participated in many events, activities, and programs.


Dianne Cannon

CannonThis College of Management senior opted for public university UMass Boston over a private Massachusetts college for its feeling of community. She is also in the Honor's program, and a recipient of the Student Enrollment Leader scholarship.


Fatih Denek

FatihAn international student from Turkey, this is Fatih's third year at UMass Boston. He sees himself as fortunte to be able to study in one of the world's most cosmopolitan cities in a university with 'colorful' social activity and students from many different backgrounds.


Darrell Penta

DarrellA recent graduate of UMass Boston who, recognizing the importance of an education, completely changed his life in order to achieve his goal of earning his degree, and "become a better person through education."


Dr. Evil

Dr. EvilPerhaps one of our favorite students for his dedication, after being frozen for over thirty years, this wily man decided to return to school. His concentration is the study of sharks with laser beams attached to their heads.
