STARS: Student Life at UMass Boston
What do students do to participate in campus life when they are not in
class? From clubs to culture, the Office of Student Life can help you
get involved on and off campus.
- Discount
passes and tickets: with your student ID, you can get free
admission to the John F. Kennedy Museum and Library, and most galleries
at the Museum of Fine Arts. Also, purchase discount tickets to local
movie theaters, The New England Aquarium and the Museum of Science right
in the Office of Student Life! We also sell discount passes for the
MBTA prior to the start of the semester

Student Centers, Clubs and Organizations: One of our over
70 cultural, academic and special interest clubs and organizations will
be the way for you to meet fellow students, and explore your interests!
Nearly twenty cultural centers and organizations include Casa Latina,
the Haitian American Society and the Vietnamese Student Association.
More than a dozen academic clubs include politics, philosophy, anthropology
and physics. Hobbies and special interest groups include: chess, sailing,
table tennis and yoga.

Government: represent your fellow students on the graduate
and undergraduate level by getting involved in student government!
- The Mass Media, The Watermark and The Beacon Yearbook:
do you have or want experience with student media? If so, you can pursue
it by writing for our student newspaper, The Mass Media; working on
the literary journal, The Watermark; and taking photos or copywriting
for The Beacon Yearbook.
- Beacon
Leadership Project: a two-semester course offered for credit
or experience, the BLP gives you chance to develop your leadership skills
to their fullest.
- Game Room – play pool and videogames in our game room!
