Books, Email, Student ID

As soon as you've registered for classes, it's time to get your UMass Boston Student ID card. You'll need to bring another form of picture ID (driver's license or passport) with you to the Student ID Office located in the Office of Student Life. View hours and location.

After you have obtained your student ID, drop by the Customer Service Center to set up your student email account. This email account is free and is the best way to keep up to date on all sorts of important information coming from all corners of the university. If you prefer, you can have mail sent to this account forwarded to another address (such as Hotmail, Yahoo, AOL).

bookbagWhat would school be without a backpack full of books? While most professors don't require you to come to the first class with any books, you might find out it's a good idea to buy your books early from the university bookstore you have a better chance of picking up the less expensive used ones. Also, you may want to search for bargains at other bookstores and websites, or check out the Used Book Exchange at UMass Boston.
