Dear Colleagues,
You are warmly invited to join us at the upcoming Educational Technology Conference, "Enhancing Student Learning with Technology,"
co-sponsored by IT and the Healey Library. The conference will be held on Friday, May 15, 2009, from 9 am – 4:00 pm, in various venues within Healey Library.
Our on-campus Ed Tech conference is designed to give you an opportunity to spend a day with faculty colleagues, IT staff and Healey Librarians and staff to explore significant questions of teaching and learning in technologically-mediated environments, to learn about new tools and resources, and to get hands-on practice with some these exciting new tools and resources, in the context of real-life usage by faculty at UMass Boston.
Here are some of the questions that this year’s conference will explore:
- How can you use technology in your classroom (whether face-to-face, blended, or fully online) to support your vision of learning?
- What are your goals for your students, and how might various educational technology resources currently available help your students to reach them?
- What have other UMass/Boston faculty learned as they’ve worked with new tools and approaches for guiding student research, enhancing online communication, teaching large classes, working with digital storytelling, and creating virtual learning environments?
- And what can we learn by carrying out our own classroom research into students’ learning in technology-supported settings?
We look forward to seeing you on May 15!
