The Louis A. Carrara Giovanni and Concetta C. Antonucci Faculty Career Development Fund in Modern Languages provides "travel/research funds" for modern language faculty who are not yet of tenure status. In the event that no junior faculty members meet the criteria for the award, the funds may be used to sponsor a semester abroad for an Italian studies major, or be put toward the purchase of books where financial need is demonstrated. A defining aspect of this award is the strong emphasis on creative work, experimentation, and professional development.
