iTeen

Join iTeen!   iTeen is a free 8-week online research program that teaches girls ages 10-14 how to eat healthier and enjoy physical activity. iTeen is about feeling good about yourself, choosing healthy food that tastes good, and making fitness a fun part of your life. The program is run by researchers at UMass Boston and is online.
To join iTeen you need to be a girl between the ages 10-14, have access to the internet, and live in Massachusetts or within 75 miles of Boston.  If eligible, you will be compensated for your time.  For more information, call 617-287-7498 or email at iteen@umb.edu.

EXCEL Study

Researchers at UMass Boston and Children's Hospital Boston are doing a 12-week study, studying interactive games like Dance Dance Revolution and  Nintendo Wii, and nutrition education as ways to increase exercise and improve the health of children in grades 3-5 who attend the William E. Russell School.

The EXCEL Study is conducted by Drs. Laura  L.  Hayman, Scott Crouter, and Jessica Whiteley from UMass Boston and Drs. Sarah deFerranti and Stavroula Osganian from Children's Hospital Boston, and the Russell School; Boston Public Schools.
