Applying for a Position
Faculty
For Faculty positions, send a curriculum vitae, cover letter and three references (name, address and phone number, unless otherwise indicated on the Web site), along with the Search Number, to the Department of Human Resources, UMass Boston, Search #, 100 Morrissey Boulevard, Boston, MA 02125-3393. Be sure to include the Search Number in the address as well as your cover letter.
Professional
For Professional positions, send a resume, cover letter and three references (name, address and phone number), along with the Search Number, to the Department of Human Resources, UMass Boston, Search #, 100 Morrissey Boulevard, Boston, MA 02125-3393. Be sure to include the Search Number in the address as well as your cover letter.
Classified
For Classified positions, applicants must complete an application packet for the position of interest. With the exception of maintenance and police officer positions, all applicants must successfully complete a computer skills test to be considered for a position. The application packet consists of the following:
- Employment Application Form
- Skills Sheet
- Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Information Request Form
Internal classified applicants only need to complete an Internal Application Form and submit a current resume.
Applicants can either download and complete these forms and then submit them to Human Resources when they come in for the computer skills test, or they can complete these forms on the day of their computer skills test. The computer skills test consists of a 20-minute word-processing test, a 20-minute spreadsheet test and a five-minute typing test. All tests are conducted in Microsoft Office software.
