UMass Boston offers rich entrepreneurial resources to help visionary faculty, staff, and students and their corporate partners build and lead major new research initiatives to advance the economic development of the region and address needs in such areas as urban health, developmental sciences, science and math learning, and computational sciences.
The Venture Development Center offers:

faculty and staff expertise: We tap into a large reservoir of researchers and educators with a wide range of expertise that can be accessed for consultation and sponsored research to solve specific problems;

new technologies: As more and more faculty embrace commercial innovation as part of their academic endeavors, breakthroughs in a wide range of fields are available for licensing; and a

state-of-the-art facility: The VDC space offers temporary flexible office and lab facilities and professional business support to help move innovations developed collaboratively with UMass Boston faculty, staff, and students from the laboratory to prototype.
