Office of Community Relations
The Office of Community Relations, part of the Division of Government Relations and Public Affairs, serves as the liaison between the University of Massachusetts Boston and its surrounding communities, representing the university in community organizations and activities whose missions are closely aligned with that of the university.
Some of those organizations are:
- the Newmarket Business Association
- the Boston Police Department
- Boston Main Streets
- the South Boston Boys and Girls Club
The Office of Community Relations also:
- coordinates outreach activities of the university’s faculty and staff
- supports community programs
- co-hosts various community events
Staff members are active participants in local civic associations, as well as in the Columbia Point Association, which is made up of neighboring institutions on the peninsula.
