Camp Shriver’s Ideals Expand to Kenya

Camp Shriver at UMass Boston is now serving as an international model as countries across the globe strive to support the inclusion of individuals with disabilities. On July 27 and 28, Peter Bukhala of Kenya, a Special Olympics Eunice Kennedy Shriver Fellow, will visit Camp Shriver to learn about its inclusive practices and ways in which similar practices can be implemented in his home country.0 Comments
ICI Director Kiernan Testifies Before Senate Subcommittee

William E. Kiernan, Ph.D., Director of the Institute for Community Inclusion (ICI), a University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities (UCEDD) at the University of Massachusetts, Boston, testified before a Senate employment subcommittee on the reauthorization of the Workforce Investment Act (WIA). He was accompanied by David Hoff, Senior Technical Assistance Specialist at ICI. The hearing was initiated by Senator Patty Murray, Chair of the Senate Health, Education Labor and Pensions (HELP) Subcommittee on Employment and Workplace Safety.0 Comments
