Welcome to the Office of the Chief Information Officer (CIO)
Information technology is integral to the fabric of the university and critical to success in the “3 R’s”, research, retention, and reputation. The Division of Information Technology provides technology to further the educational mission of the University of Massachusetts Boston
Our goal is the 99.9% availability of information technology resources to the campus community.
We consist of four customer-focused departments:
- Educational Technology and Learning Commons to provide state-of-the art technical, audio-visual, and video support to faculty and students for their research and study.
- Client Services to assist the campus community with the use of computers and applications and with the installation and maintenance of data, software, and networking and to deliver Web services.
- Administrative Computing to oversee initiatives related to all campus administrative computing systems and enterprise software.
- Communication and Infrastructure Services to operate and maintain the computer networking infrastructure, the data center, network rooms, cable plant, and conduit/manhole systems on campus.
