Printing Instructions
Printing is a two step process. First, from any public workstation you may print to any of the networked printers. Laptop users must follow some additional steps. Afterwards, you must visit a Print Release Station to have your print job released from the printer. The following steps will walk you through the process:

First, send your print job from any public workstation in the Library, you can also pickup your print jobs at one of the Satellite Print Release Stations: located in Quinn Administration (2nd. Fl.), Science Center (2nd Fl.), Campus Center (UL & 2nd Fls.), and  McCormack hall (1st Fl. rear lobby). In addition each satellite print release station has a public workstation to assist you in sending your job to the printer from that location. BE SURE TO LOGOFF of the workstation and release station when you are done.

  1. Choose print. (e.g. selecting File -> Print or by pressing the appropriate Print icon.)  Select printer 9050 on PHAROS-SERVER.
  2. You may select Properties to change the settings (e.g. Print on Both Sides (UL printers only) and Portrait/Landscape Orientation).
  3. PLEASE NOTE:  For "Print on both sides", documents must be printed on the UL (GUL) printers, NOT the 4th floor (Library) printers.
  • Enter your UMB email username (e.g. joe.student001).
  • Enter a name for the print job (e.g. English 101 Paper).
  • Select print.

Second, you must release the print job from a Print Release Station
If you are having trouble with your account, please contact the IT Service Desk.

  1. Login to a Print Release Station, you must be a current student enrolled in a class.
  2. Enter your UMB email username same as you did when you submitted the print job, and then enter your UMB email password.
  3. If you have free pages remaining on your account, you may, with the mouse, select the print job you'd like to release and click print.
  4. Otherwise you must:
  • swipe a copy/print card with sufficient value into the card reader.
  • with the mouse select the print job you'd like to release and click print.

       5.   When you are done, select logout.
