1. What is my Student Email address and password?

Once you are enrolled in classes, a student email address will be automatically assigned to you.

Your Student Email address is based on your first and last name, and also uses a number to allow various email addresses for students with the same name.

Most likely, your email address is: firstname.lastname001@umb.edu

If you have a punctuation mark in your name, (ONeil, Cathèll, Williams-Smith) it might have been omitted from the email address.

If you have a long name, some of the letters of your last name may have been cut off. For example, Christopher Colombus’s email address would be Christopher.Colom001@umb.edu. (The maximum amount of characters before the @ symbol is twenty).

If you have a fairly common name, it is possible that instead of “001” your email address will use “002,” “003,” etc.

To verify your Student Email address, log in to WISER by visiting http://wiser.umb.edu. For information on logging into WISER please see FAQ #6. In WISER, you will be able to find your email address information under the “Personal Portfolio” folder.

Your Student Email password depends on whether or not this is your first time logging in to Student Email.

If this is your first time logging in to your email account, your password is the first two letters of your last name (the first letter capitalized, the second one lowercase) followed by your birthdate in this format: MMDDYYYY.

Example: If Wolfgang Mozart, born on January 27, 1756, had an email account, his password would be Mo01271756.

If this is NOT the first time you are logging in, click on the link “Change your password: Click here” and change it to something new.  You do not need to know your old password to do this.
