Description
Management of the Operating System, Anti-Virus, Backups for UMass Boston Windows based servers for the UMass Boston campus
- Installing and maintaining racks, hardware, and firmware associated with teh above listed servers
- Performing Server operating system maintenance and upgrades
- Designing and maintaining directory services for Microsoft Active Directory
- Designing and maintaining authentication and access cotnrol services to these servers
- Installing and maintaing server management software
- Troubleshooting server problems and failures
- Maintain currentl Anti-Virus software on servers
- Maintain server backups and offsite storage for backups
- Maintain Virtual Server environments

Availability
Service is available to all customers of servers management by IT Services as follows
Level 1 Services : Full Server Support (based on signed SLA)
UMass Boston IT is responsible for full support of the server including: connectivity to the network, installation, licensing, patches and upgrades of the operating system, server monitoring, and regularly scheduled backups.
Level 2 Service : Partial Server Support (based on signed SLA)
