WISER is the on-line system at UMass Boston where students and faculty can access academic and financial information.  Students will use WISER for registering for classes and updating and maintaining their personal, academic and financial information at the University.  Faculty will use WISER to access their class rosters, email students, enter grades and assist in advising students.

The Pass/Fail and Course Withdrawal deadlines for Spring Semester 2010 are April 8, 2010.

Late Registration Fee for Spring Semester after December 31st, 2009

TROUBLESHOOTING for Common Problems:
  • USER ID: If you are just starting out with WISER, and do not know your Self Service ID, you can click the Look Up Your User ID link on the WISER log-in page to find that information or get help with getting one.
  • WISER 1st TIME USERS: This document provides instructions for students and faculty who have never logged on to WISER.
  • PASSWORD RESETS: If you are having problems logging on to WISER and your password needs to be reset, this is done by the IT Service Desk staff. Contact the IT Service Desk (formerly known as Helpdesk) at 617-287-5220, or send an email to .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) , or visit the IT Service Desk on the third floor of the Healey Library on campus.
  • Getting Your WISER Account – STUDENTS:
    All current students are automatically assigned a WISER account.  If you are having difficulty locating your WISER User ID and initial password, contact the IT Service Desk at 617.287.5220 or .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) or visit the IT Service Desk on the third floor of the Healey Library on campus.
  • Getting Your WISER Account – FACULTY:
    Most faculty are automatically given access to WISER.  If you are teaching in the current or upcoming semester and do not have a self-service account, check with your department to ensure that (1) your records in HR are current, and (2) you have been assigned by the Registrar's office as the instructor for the course.
  • Getting Your WISER AccountSTAFF:
    Staff accounts in WISER are requested individually by department heads.  If you do not have a WISER staff/administration account, check with your supervisor to insure the access has been requested from the appropriate Data Custodian(s).
