Eileen McMahon is a Senior Instructional Designer at UMass Boston. She works closely with faculty to integrate technology into the curriculum, and create strong pedagogically sound applications of technology. Her areas of interest in include Educational Mash-ups, open educational resources and collaborative pedagogies.

Bhavesh has worked as EDP System Analyst for Division of Corporate, Continuing, and Distance Education Dept as of June 2001. He has joined the LMS Administration Team as of April 2005. He holds a BS degree in Computer Science from the University of Massachusetts at Boston. He is also supporting faculty and students with the e-Learning Technology. He enjoys working with faculty to help improve the faculty and the student experience.  He likes working with the online, web-enhanced and blended courses.

Theresa is LMS Administrator for State Funded Courses. She also serves as a web developer and trainer and enjoys learning and implementing new technologies to support the university community. Some projects she has been involved in include the Blackboard Vista/PeopleSoft Middleware Integration Project and LMS Course Section Request application. She is currently working on the UMB Training Portal project and will be developing new Office 2007 workshops to be presented this summer.

Ray is currently a member of the LMS Team where he designs, develops, and delivers face-to-face and online training on educational technologies. Ray has been active in the IT field for over 34 years with experience in managing educational technology facilities and programs, teaching (10 years as adjunct in the GCOE Instructional Design Program), program development and administration (co-founded with Bob Risse the Teaching with Technology Program in 1997). Ray retired from full time service in 2004 and now works part time.

For the past 12 years Bob has served as a trainer developing and teaching, in collaboration with Ray Melcher, workshops designed to assist faculty in the application of instructional technology to their teaching and research. At present his main focus is to provide training through workshops and consultation in the use of learning management system technology. Previously he was a member at UMB of the English Department and later the Art Department. In the former he taught composition and medieval literature and the latter film and communication studies. He is now retired teaching part time.

Irene Yukhananov is an Instructional Designer at UMass Boston. She supports faculty in web-enhanced courses using Blackboard Vista and Adobe Dreamweaver and Contribute. Irene also works with faculty and students training them on how to use various Web 2.0 tools, mostly GPS technologies and Google Maps, to enhance teaching and learning. She earned her B.S. and M.S. in Geography and Environmental Studies. In addition to her passion for learning and education, Irene is a talented graphic designer.

Gene Shwalb is an Instructional Designer for the Division of Corporate, Continuing, and Distance Education at UMass Boston. He supports online faculty using Blackboard Vista, Wimba Classroom and Voice, and Adobe Presenter (Breeze). Gene is also an adjunct instructor at UMass Boston, teaching graduate courses in Instructional Design and Technology. He has degrees from UMass Boston (M.Ed), Boston University (MBA), and Oberlin Conservatory of Music (B.Mus). Gene is also a professional musician.

Ellie Kutz is a professor emirita of English and is currently serving as the IT faculty liaison, providing outreach to faculty for IT initiatives and connecting faculty to appropriate IT resources for their interests and projects. She continues to teach some English courses online, including a graduate course-- Teaching English with Technology. Her research focuses on discourse, literacy and composition, and she guided the creation of an interactive website to help create a community of writers that is used for many of UMB’s freshman writing, English, and general education courses. She is also a member of the advisory board of the Center for the Improvement of Teaching, and has twice directed CIT’s faculty seminar on teaching with technology.
