The Media Center located on the 3rd floor of Healey Library is home to the Language Lab and the Multimedia Lab and the Media Group Viewing Room.

Please use the Red Lab located on the UL floor of the library when the Media Center is closed.

 

Wimba Workstations

The IT Division of Educational Technology and Learning Commons is providing students with campus access to Horizon WIMBA Live Classrooms and/Archives. The WIMBA stations are located in the Healey Library. Job Aids describing how to access WIMBA Live Classrooms and Archives, and information on how to access technical support,are provided at each of the workstations. Students who can show a valid identification will be able to borrow headsets with microphones for WIMBA access from the Healey Library Circulation Desk.

Two Dell workstations are available in the Media Center
during hours of operation.

Media Center Policies

  • All clients are expected to follow the University "Responsible / Acceptable Use of Computer & Data Resources" (PDF)
  • Students may only work on multimedia or language lab projects.
    This lab is not for writing/printing papers please use the labs on the UL.
  • You must have your UMass Boston student I.D. with you at all times.
    Your I.D. must be shown at the time you enter the lab or you will not be allowed to use the equipment.
  • No food or drinks are allowed in the lab.
    Food and drinks are only allowed in the lobby downstairs.
  • We are not responsible for your personal belongings.
    Please take all of your personal items with you when exiting the lab!
  • No cell phone use, please turn your cell phones to silent and make all calls outside the Media Center in the lobby.
  • The Media Center does not supply cilents with CD, DVD, ZIP or Floppy disks, please bring these items with you to save your work.
