Testing
Once you've populated your content in Contribute, it's important to test your site. Testing your site simply means checking that your site is complete with no missing content and that all links go where you want them to, including menu items. Click around in your site and make sure it behaves the way you expect it to.
- Check your navigation first making sure all the menus go to the right pages.
- If you're linking to documents (like Word or PDF files), make sure those files launch when you click on the link. Launching a document (i.e. a non HTML file) means that the applications that created these documents have to reside on the user's computer for those files to be properly displayed. Newer browsers will recognize Word and PDF files and launch within a browser window if the user does not have those programs. The default format for documents is generally PDF and may open in either Acrobat Reader or the browser window.
- If you're linking to external sites, make sure those sites load when you click on the external link.
