The staff of Campus Ministry is available to meet with any member of the UMass Boston community.


Catholic Campus Ministry

Fr. Paul Helfrich, B.H.

Catholic Campus Ministry Hours:

Tuesdays- 10 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Thursdays- 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

New, as of March 1st, to the UMass community, Father Paul has been an ordained Priest of the Archdiocese of Boston since 2000. He holds a Bachelor in History from Rutgers University, a J.D. from Seton Hall Law School, a S.T.B. from the University of Saint Thomas in Rome and a Master of Arts in Theology from St. John's Seminary.

Father Paul has previously served in Catholic campus ministry at Boston University and Florida State University.  He also currently serves as Catholic chaplain at Suffolk University.
Prior to ordination, Fr. Paul practiced as an attorney in New Jersey.

Catholic Campus Ministry can be reached at 617-287-5839 as well as at paul.helfrich@umb.edu. Please feel free to come to Mass on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 12:30. Also, Father Paul is available for confessions and conversations by appointment, or if he is free, when you drop by.

Protestant Campus Ministry

Rev. Adrienne Berry-Burton

Rev. Adrienne is an ordained minister. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Education from Georgia State University, Atlanta, GA (1983) and a Master of Divinity degree from Andover Newton Theological School, Newton, MA (1997). She continued her studies as a Harvard Divinity School Urban Ministry Fellow (Certificate, 2003).
Rev. Adrienne has been an educator, minister and a professional organizer. Before coming to UMass she worked for Greater Boston Interfaith Organization helping diverse people-of-faith work together as forces for positive social change. She also worked as an Associate Pastor and Minister at Zion Baptist Church, Lynn, MA and as a Youth Organizer with First Lutheran Church, Lynn. MA. She currently serves on the campus of UMass Boston and as the Interim Senior Pastor at Somerville Community Baptist Church in Davis Square. Students are welcome to visit in McCormack Hall or Community Baptist for Sunday services.
Rev. Adrienne came to UMass in September of 2000. She provides Pastoral Care, a listening ear, prayer, referrals to local Houses of Worship, opportunities for dialog, interactive faith events, and fun fellowship. She also leads Bible study discussions and meditation.
