Research & Resources
The LRC actively produces and publishes research about workers, unions, and public legislation. The goals of our research program are to answer the questions of workers and their organizations so that they can take action to improve working conditions and workers' lives in Massachusetts, and to create opportunities for Labor Studies students to participate in labor research projects.
Over the years, the LRC has engaged in research projects in a number of areas – economic analysis, paid family leave, worker misclassification, and evaluating worker training – while also working directly with unions, the Massachusetts AFL-CIO, and other labor organizations on specific workforce or economic development efforts. Establishing effective linkages between labor and community organizations with similar concerns has been a high priority in this work.
Most recently, the LRC along with the Labor Centers at UMass Amherst, Lowell, and Dartmouth, has been working on the Future of Work in Massachusetts project.
