Thirteen students from Introduction to Composition (Music 393) presented original compositions in concert. "Ars Nova, New Music from UMass Boston Composers" was held in Snowden Auditorium on December 15. The composers (shown above) are Christopher Balliro, Christopher DeAngelis, Mark Earley, Isaia Giannetti, Thomas Healey, Craig McKeone, Jeffrey Miller, Michael Mills, Joseph Phillips, Patrick Teahan, Gregory Weeks, Amanda White, Brendan Wood, and directed by Professor David Patterson, who instructed the class. In Music 393, students worked with a desktop publishing and sequencing computer program that enabled them to both see and hear their compositions at various stages of development.
