UMass Boston Confers 2,525 Degrees and Certificates, Honors World and Community Leaders at 34th Commencement

(Boston, MA) The University of Massachusetts Boston will award 2,525 diplomas and certificates at the celebration of its 34th commencement held on Saturday, June 1 at the Bayside Exposition Center. The general procession will begin at 10:30 a.m., and the main ceremony will begin at 11:00 a.m.

The following degrees will be given to 1,788 undergraduates:

726 Bachelor of Science degrees
1,062 Bachelor of Arts degrees

The following degrees with be given to 737 graduate students:

260 Master of Education
157 Master of Arts
150 Master of Science
96 Master of Business Administration
19 Doctor of Philosophy
11 Doctor of Education
44 Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study

Faculty achievements will be presented to four professors:

1 Chancellor's Distinguished Scholarship Award
1 Chancellors Distinguishes Service Award
2 Chancellor's Distinguished Teaching Awards

Other awards to be bestowed at Commencement include four honorary degree awards and one John F. Kennedy Award for Excellence to a graduating senior.
