University Celebrates Generous Friends at Donor Recognition Night

On April 25, alumni, faculty, staff, students, and friends of the university gathered at the Fairmont Copley Plaza for the university’s annual donor recognition night. The event celebrated donors who have given more than $5,000 to UMass Boston. Also attending were students who have benefitted from such donations through scholarships, including Mark D’Agostino ’02, the Frances Cosentino Scholar who spoke on the meaning of such support in his “An Expression of Gratitude” speech. The evening also featured performances by Sergeant Daniel Clark ’91, the “singing trooper” of the Massachusetts State Police, and current UMass Boston music students Sylvia Allen, Bistra Bogdanova, Sarah Newcomb, and Vanessa Ortega.
