All of us at UMass Boston work hard every day to serve our students and the communities around us. To fulfill our mission, we must also work hard to inform everyone who can benefit from our services about who we are and what we have to offer. Because high standards and effective practices in our communications with the outside world are critical in building such awareness, I have asked the Office of University Communications to prepare these guidelines for visual and editorial style.
If you are involved in producing publications, signs, Web pages, and other forms of communication representing the university, I urge you to become familiar with the policies set forth here and to follow them conscientiously. We all will be repaid by greater recognition of our university’s accomplishments—and by its capacity to accomplish still more in the years ahead.
