Fall 2012 International Relations RoundTable with Inderjeet Parmar, professor of international politics, City University London and chair of the British International Studies Association, who will speak on "Foundations of the American Century: Ford, Carnegie, and Rockefeller Foundations on the Rise of American Power."
Parmar’s research interests focus on the history, politics and sociology of Anglo-American foreign policy elites over the past 100 years, specifically embodied in organizations such as philanthropic foundations, think tanks, policy research institutes, university foreign affairs institutes, and state agencies. He serves as co-editor of the book series, Routledge Studies in US Foreign Policy, and is Principal Investigator and coordinator of the AHRC Research Network on the Presidency of Barack Obama which includes prominent universities and think tanks in the US and the UK.
His latest book, Foundations of the American Century: Ford, Carnegie, and Rockefeller Foundations in the Rise of American Power was published in 2012 by Columbia University Press. (flyer)
