Lend a Helping Hand: Participate in the 13th Annual Helping Hands Holiday Gift Initiative
December 04, 2012
Office of Communications
For 13 years, the Hyde Park Department of Children and Families and the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Athletics and Recreation, Special Programs, and Projects have teamed up to provide holiday gifts for recently homeless and foster children in our community. Please consider sharing in this season of giving and making the holidays happier for these children by volunteering to purchase a gift for a child.
To purchase a new holiday gift for one or more children:
- contact Marsha Florio at 617.287.7917 or Marsha.Florio@umb.edu
- drop by the Quinn Administration Building, 3rd Floor, Room 36
Unwrapped gifts must be dropped off at the above location no later than December 4; wrapped gifts by December 10.
You can also donate cash to help underwrite the campus gift-giving party.
Volunteer gift-wrappers are needed for the drop-in gift wrap party on Wednesday, December 5, from 12–3 p.m. in the Clark Conference Room, Clark Athletic Center, 2nd Floor. Cider and cookies will be provided. Please email Marsha.Florio@umb.edu if you can attend.
Santa’s helpers—with a big assist from the Women’s Basketball Team—will distribute gifts to the children on Wednesday, December 12, from 5:45–7:45 p.m. in the University Dining Hall.
