26th Annual Book Fair Shows “It Takes a Team to Raise a Child”

Alkia Powell, the coordinator of community services for the University of Massachusetts Boston, attended the 26th annual Charles C. Yancey Book Fair at the Reggie Lewis Track and Athletic Center in Roxbury Saturday. The event, with its theme of  “It Takes a Team to Educate a Child,” was sponsored by Mattapan City Councilor Charles Yancey and his staff.

“The education and development of our children and future leaders will take a team effort,” Yancey said in a statement.

Since its inception, the fair has given out more than 300,000 books to readers of all ages.
