Lisa Kennedy Sheldon Wins Health Services Award from Alumni Association at Saint Anselm College

Lisa Kennedy Sheldon, PhD APRN-BC, received the 2011 Health Services Award from the Alumni Association at Saint Anselm College on October 28, 2011. The Alumni Awards are presented to Saint Anselm alumni, faculty, staff, and friends in recognition of outstanding achievement, contributions to the college, or in their chosen field. The Health Services Award recognizes alumni or friends of the college for exceptional achievement in health care, research, practice, and/or health education.
Lisa Kennedy Sheldon is an assistant professor in the College of Nursing and Health Sciences and teaches in the undergraduate and doctoral nursing programs. Her research is focused on improving cancer care, especially patient-provider communication, and psychosocial outcomes. She serves as an oncology nurse practitioner in New Hampshire and travels to Honduras to improve the health of the Honduran people through the organization of healthcare clinics in remote villages. She is also involved in oncology nursing nationally and globally through education and research initiatives with the Oncology Nursing Society and the American Society of Clinical Oncology. She is an associate editor for the Clinical Journal of Oncology Nursing and the author of numerous articles, chapters, and books.
