MOPC Accepting Community Mediation Center Grant Applications until August 31st
July 31, 2012
Massachusetts Office of Public Collaboration
The Massachusetts Office of Public Collaboration (MOPC) of the University of Massachusetts Boston is accepting grant applications to qualify and provide state operational funding to community mediation centers for FY 2013 under the Massachusetts Community Mediation Center Grant Program pursuant to G. L. Ch. 75, Section 47.
State operating grants awarded under the Community Mediation Center Grant Program support private non-profit and public agency-based community mediation centers in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. In order to be eligible for funding, centers must show that they meet the Twelve-Point Model of community mediation and have a proven track record of service to their communities. MOPC will allocate $472,000 of state funding to up to sixteen (16) qualified community mediation centers through two types of grant awards – baseline awards and performance-based awards. Community mediation centers receiving grant awards will be periodically evaluated by MOPC to ensure quality of services and accountability for public funding.
Grant applicants must submit one (1) hard copy document and (1) electronic copy in PDF format (as a single document) no later than 5 pm on Friday, August 31, 2012. The full text of the Grant Application Request (GAR) with grant application form can be found at http://www.umb.edu/mopc/projects/community_mediation_center_grant_program.
An optional briefing to answer questions from prospective grant applicants will be held on Friday, August 10, 2012 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM EST at the University of Massachusetts Boston, Chancellor’s Conference Room, 3rd Floor, Quinn Building, 100 Morrissey Blvd, Boston, MA 02125.
