U.S. News & World Report has ranked the Master of Science in Public Affairs Program at the University of Massachusetts Boston No. 87 in the country, giving it the distinction of being a top tier program.

Two hundred and sixty eight public affairs programs were assessed; deans of public affairs schools and other academics were asked to nominate up to 10 programs for excellence in each specialty.

“Peer universities must recognize the value of your educational program in order to receive top tier recognition,” said Christine Thurlow Brenner, chair of the Department of Public Policy and Public Affairs in the John W. McCormack Graduate School of Policy and Global Studies. “I am very proud of the efforts of our faculty as teachers and researchers. They are the ones that have made this important recognition of our program possible.”

Connie Chan, acting dean of the McCormack Graduate School, stated, “It is an honor for the public affairs program to receive this level of professional acknowledgment. The recognition demonstrates the growing academic reputation of the McCormack Graduate School of Policy and Global Studies.”
