Pre-tenured Faculty
4th Year Review &Tenure Preparation Workshop
Each year OFD offers a 4th Year Review and Tenure Preparation Workshop for pre-tenured faculty in collaboration with the FSU. The workshops includes an overview of the expectations of the Provost's Office for promotion as well as an overview of the support services and perspective of the Faculty Union. Additionally, a panel of recently tenured faculty from each of the colleges give their perspectives and advice for preparing for your tenure case.
The overview of expectations of the Provost’s Office PPT presentation as seen in the workshop can be found here. See also the FSU Guide to The Tenure Process.
CIT Seminar for Untenured Faculty Members
The Seminar for Untenured Faculty Members provides an opportunity for untenured faculty members to work collaboratively on issues of teaching and learning and on questions of professional development. The seminar explores the differing perspectives, challenges, and pedagogical aspirations of participants and provides mutually supportive feedback. It addresses teaching and learning concerns in light of the additional demands faced by untenured faculty members. See CIT for application deadline and more information.
OFD Junior Faculty Research Seminar
Each year junior faculty members from across the university will be invited to join a seminar intended to foster productive research and scholarship, and to break through the sense of isolation that may accompany the period of building one’s dossier for the tenure decision year. It will provide opportunities for participants to review and present their work to seminar colleagues and to benefit from the research and tenure experiences of senior colleagues on particular topics of interest.
