Moving from Associate to Full Professor

As Associate faculty continue to be actively engaged in teaching, scholarship and community service as Professors and leaders in their disciplines, they will want to move from Associate to Full professors. While, there is no one certain criteria or promotion path for promotion from associate professor to full professor, there are steps that one can take to achieve this goal. OFD will offer a session to participants regarding the expectations of promotion from Associate to Professor from the perspective of the Provost’s Office, the University Committee on Appointments, Promotions and Tenure, and UMass Boston faculty who have recently been promoted to Professor.

Center for Innovative Teaching Seminar for Tenured Faculty

The thematic seminar addresses the theme "Engaging Students in a Changing University." It is guided by existing knowledge and established approaches within the scholarship of teaching and learning. It also takes a research perspective on teaching, encouraging participants to raise questions about their own teaching contexts and to use those questions to frame inquiries into the effectiveness of particular teaching practices. Possible areas of exploration might include promoting meaningful discussion and writing; teaching and learning in large classrooms; and the interface between technology, teaching and learning. See CIT for for information.
